So, you ready to get awkward?
Dude, let’s see how awkward we can get.
I guess we could start off with your nickname. What’s the story behind Killer?
It was from a highschool buddy; I had a shaved head back then and he asked me if I’d ever killed anybody. So I decided to mess with him and told him maybe. The name kinda stuck I guess.
So you worked at HCSC last year?
I’ve worked as a digger out there for four summers now. I usually drive the snowmobiles around, transport bags of salt, haul people to the top of the hill. That kind of stuff.
Oh, nice! Story is you get pretty crazy on the snowmobile.
I think the funniest story was when me, Grendy’s, and Parker (Duke) were high-marking the quarterpipe. The main Timberline guy ended up coming down on a snow cat and you know, kinda started bullshitting, and when he went to leave he had his tiller down and backed over our tracks without saying anything. He was definitely bummed. I think that same summer we crashed two of the sleds.
So where are you based out of in Minnesota?
Richmond, Minnesota, about half an hour outside of St. Cloud. After graduating I moved out to Salt Lake City and generally ride around Brighton and Park City.
Who do you ride with out there usually?
Kinda whoever’s there that day. Usually Brisse and Bjorn Leines if we’re filming stuff. Otherwise, whoever. I just go up and ride with whoever.
So where’s your favorite spot to go out when you’re off the hill?
Probably, I would say, a tavern called the Cotton Bottom where you can get cheap beer and world famous garlic burgers.
That sounds awesome.
Yeah they’re delicious. If you ever go out there it’s a must.
If I were to come out for a day this winter, what would the gameplan be?
Well, it really depends on whether it snowed that night. If it snowed that night we’d be going cliff to cliff at Milly getting gnarly. If it was bluebird and hadn’t snowed in awhile we’d be riding the park at Park City. After riding we’d probably go skate somewhere, play a round of disc golf, or go bowling.
Then eat burgers I take it?
Nah, if we rode Park City we’d be eating Cobra Dogs.
Hell yeah, that sounds great. So what boot were you riding over the summer?
I’ve rode the Andreas Wiig pro models for the last few years and I’ve been super hyped on that one. It stays tight and it’s super durable.
Any shout outs? Last words?
I just want to thank all my family and sponsors.
