So Erik, how are you feeling today?
Can’t complain. I’m at a coffee shop and they’re playing some Sam Cooke, it’s wonderful.
Sounds nice, how do you take your coffee?
Black, straight and to the point.
Where are you from?
I’m from Brighton, on the east side of Michigan
And where are you currently residing?
I made the move to the west side, living in Grand Rapids with my friend Tommy, going to school and boarding.
What do you like about the area you’re living in?
It’s fucking beautiful. You got the lake right there, super fun towrope resorts, it’s close to Chicago, and it’s a cool city, not to mention all the friends here.
If I came and spent a day with you in Grand Rapids, what would that be like?
You know Codias, I would take you out to breakfast and, if possible, take you to one of the spots out here and we could get loose on that. After filming we could go to the park at Cannonsburg and ride rope for the night. Whenever we get done there we’d head out to our bar down the street, The Meanwhile.
That sounds lovely Erik, what is the most unique spot that you’ve sessioned out there?
Hmm, probably the most unique thing was when we went to the South Haven sand dunes after a storm and filmed on the wind lips and formations.
Is there any place we could look for footage of you out there this year?
I filmed with Bald E-Gal the last few years, and some of my clips went in the Cats of Anarchy video. Most likely have a little re-edit coming out here soon.
I saw that footy, it was hot. What Vans boot are you riding?
The V-66, its just really comfortable and light. Its supportive enough that my ankles survive but it’s flexible enough to allow me to get loose
Any shout outs and thank you’s, Mr. Zimmerman?
I want to thank my Mom and Dad, as well as all my friends and family for being awesome. Emmet at CAPiTA has been a major help, also Bovee at Vans. Thanks to Pete Harvieux for being, well, Pete Harvieux. Mike Thienes at Bald E-Gal for letting me film with them, and Bobby Elmergreen.
